The Australian Centre for Financial Studies, Mercer and the Victorian Government will hold a boardroom lunch on Tuesday 23rd  October, 2018 hosted by the Financial Services Council in Sydney  (12.30 until 2pm), highlighting the results and findings of the Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index (MMGPI) for 2018.

Since its inception in 2009 (with the Victorian Governments support), the MMGPI’s publication has been an important date in the calendar for the superannuation sector worldwide.

The Index assesses and compares retirement income systems around the world based on their adequacy, sustainability and integrity.

The annual report also makes specific policy suggestions to improve pension systems in each country and in 2018, 4 additional countries have been included – Hong Kong, Peru, Saudi Arabia and Spain.

This year the launch will include presentations from:

    • Sally Loane, FSC
      Dr David Knox, Mercer (2018 Index results and findings)
      Keynote address from John Maroney,  SMSF Association and
      Panel discussion, moderated by Sally Loane, panelists include Prof Hazel Bateman, UNSW, Darren McShane, Financial Regulation Consultants Service, John Maroney, SMSF Association and Dr David Knox, Mercer.

The Index will become public after the launch.
