Understanding Corporate Defaults – The Z-Metrics Methodology For Estimating Company Credit Ratings And Default Risk Probabilities
The Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies’ Seminar Series is designed to highlight leading edge financial research. Practitioners can gain insights from academics and this industry-academe interaction is aimed to facilitate knowledge transfer and enhance networks.
The development and commercial application of the Z-Metrics methodology is a hallmark example of how academic ideas can be translated into value-adding services for the finance industry. This methodology is developed by Dr. Altman, in collaboration with RiskMetrics and Dr. Herbert Rijken of the Vrije University of Amsterdam.
