The Australian Centre and Suncorp will host a briefing to learn about the first innovationXchange challenge from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Launching November 30th, the $2 million dollar innovation challenge will focus on humanitarian response in the Pacific Region. One of the three windows under the challenge will focus on improving financial resilience throughout the Pacific Islands. (The other two windows will seek solutions to immediate needs assessment and pre-positioned emergency supplies difficulties.)
The challenge presents a unique opportunity for Australia’s financial services sector to participate in designing innovative forms of support to humanitarian disasters in the Pacific. The winning ideas will be announced in May next year at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. At this event, you’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from Lisa Rauter, Head of the innovationXchange, about the content of the challenge and why the Australian Government thinks that delivering new financial services can support resilience to extreme natural hazards.
A short briefing will be provided followed by light refreshments.
